If I told you what I was working on you would certainly be like “how tf does he not know this?” but I have… several ethernet ports available for this :).
Appreciate you taking the time to write this all out!
It would allow me to be connected to both the bridge and the only Ethernet port eventually but this required me deleting the connections I made from nmcli entirely first and starting over.
I have quite literally no idea what the difference was THIS time, but it now finally acts as a bridge for the VMs and they all have a different local static IP :)
Wait until you need to back it up or move the drive or something. The difference is mind boggling.
I asked the community if there were tools. And they basically said “tools to direct copy the /home folder to an external drive?..” and I was like WTFitcantjustbethateasy
Nah. No “backup” or “timeline” or “restore point” or other BS. You just back it up, reinstall, and drag it back over (you can do this LIVE even).
One restart will fix out any kinks and you’re basically good to go.
Want specifics or just the general vibe of me being a dumbie ;)? Stable Diffusion (the web gui version) uses CUDA 11 and all of my attempts to work around this let me w/ either a perma black screen or a 1FPS Desktop Enviornment that leads to a crash of said DE in ~30 seconds or so.
It seems that running that exact NVIDIA driver + Cuda 11 freaks the fuck out and I tried in maybe 5+ ways before giving up and accepting Cuda 12 and no Simple Diffusion (at least on this partition)
